Biography & Work of Donald Perrett |
![]() |
Donald Perrett was born in Leyton, London, England in 1933 and has spent most of his working life in engineering in bench-work, milling, turning and finally tool-making. In 2003 he took an interest in geometrical sculptures and using his engineering experience he made a simple steel Dodecahedron. This was followed by a more complicated steel Dodecahedron (one of the Archimedean solid geometrical figures) and this was 152.5cm in diameter. Both of these first two projects were galvanised to prevent rusting. For these projects Donald designed his own tooling which was necessitated by the accuracy required in assembly. The 114cm Dodecahedron - Price £2950 This sculpture (shown above) is a precision engineered geometric shape made from polished 12mm stainless steel rod (340 grade). All joints are internally welded at attractive finely coned joints (see photo below). It is 114cm in diameter and has an overall weight of 37kg.
The sculpture is suitable for display in both inside and outside locations. Please contact us if you wish to commission a sculpture like this which can be made to any size.
